Alexander Zverev, the 2021 tournament winner, will play in Vienna again next October. For Zverev, ranked second in the world, the Erste Bank Open is one of his favorite tournaments on the ATP Tour.
“I'm very happy that I'll be back in Vienna next year because it's a very special tournament for me. It's always nice to play in German-speaking countries. I have already won the tournament once in 2021 and hope that I can be successful in Vienna for the second time next year,” explained Zverev, who did not leave the Wiener Stadthalle empty-handed this year either after his second consecutive victory at the Red Bull BassLine show event.
Zverev was generally in a brilliant playing mood at the end of 2024 and won his second title at an ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Paris-Bercy last season, having already triumphed at the clay court classic in Rome in May. And Germany's number one also impressed afterwards at the ATP Finals in Turin with strong performances and an advance to the semi-finals.
