In the USA and Canada, virtual reality tennis tournaments have already proven to be a resounding success. Vienna and the Erste Bank Open are now the first venue for a virtual reality tennis tournament on European soil. Together with LAOLA1, VR Motion-Learning GmbH - the visionary developer of Tennis Esports - and the Austrian Tennis Federation, the matches of the award-winning Austrian game developer VR Motion-Learning will be played on the VR app "TENNIS ESPORTS".

The virtual play-offs will take place from October 2-22, and the final on October 27 will then be played live at Erste Bank Open 2 Go at the Wiener Eislauf-Verein at Heumarkt as part of the Erste Bank Open. There are numerous tennis packages from Wilson to be won, 1,000 euros in cash for the winner and 500 euros for the runner-up.

To participate, you need a pair of VR glasses "Meta Quest 2" or "Meta Quest Pro", the TENNIS ESPORTS app, an internet connection and a playing surface of about 3x3 m. The tournament is open to all: no matter how old, professional or amateur.
The first 20 local players:will receive tickets to the Tennis Esports final on October 27 at Erste Bank Open 2 Go, where they can look forward to a comprehensive tennis package worth 250 euros. The winner will also receive 1,000 euros in cash, and the runner-up 500 euros.

Successful run started at the US Open

In 2022, a VR tennis tournament of this kind was held for the first time during the US Open. More than 4,000 fans were enthusiastic about it at the time and competed for victory. This summer, the "Tennis Canada Virtual Reality Tournament" followed during the National Bank Open ATP Masters 1000 tournament. Players from 45 nations played more than 10,000 matches until the winner was decided.
